MEET ZANELE SHABALALA
I'm Currently a student at the university of Witwatersrand, studying for a bachelors degree in urban and regional planning. In this work I am inspired by the notion of trying to unpack how countries that have dominating religions control and discriminate other groups with different beliefs within the built spaces. The blogs will be expressing how the conflicts are expressed politically and within spaces.

The politics of religious conflict refers to the intersection of politics and religion when it comes to conflicts, disputes, and tensions that arise within and between religious groups or communities. This term encompasses a wide range of situations and issues, and it can be approached from various perspectives. The key aspects of the politics of religious conflict in this work will be referring to its impact within the spatial planning systems and land. That is the significant impacts on spatial planning, which refers to the process of organizing and developing physical spaces and the built environment. These impacts can manifest at various scales, from local neighborhoods to regional planning and even national or international levels.
